Christine's PhotoDefining moments in our lives shape who we are and who we become. For Christine Clinton, these experiences have stimulated her curiosity and fueled a lifelong passion to learn, educate, and create a holistic wellness practice which brings healing, care, and hope to all those she touches.

Christine brings a unique warmth and positive energy to her clients. Her extensive knowledge and experience coupled with her compassionate listening and natural teaching abilities, enables her to create customized treatments for private clients, student training or speaking engagements for spa industry professionals.

Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and currently residing with her husband and two teenage sons in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, Christine Clinton is a gifted massage therapist, skin care specialist, educator, and entrepreneur in the spa industry. She is a licensed massage and skin care therapist skilled in Therapeutic Massage, Oncology Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki, Aromatherapy, Maternity and Infant Massage.

Her journey began in her early 20’s as a fitness instructor in Dublin, where she was introduced to the benefits of massage to facilitate muscle repair following exercise. Shortly afterwards, she embarked on a 3 year travel excursion to England, Indonesia, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia and the United States. While in Bali, she received daily massages and fell in love with the art and practice of massage therapy. Determined to become a massage therapist, upon her return to Ireland, Christine enrolled in an ITEC school and became certified.

She relocated to the US and started a private massage practice in New York and Pennsylvania. In 2002 she became certified as a Hot Stone Therapy instructor. In 2005 she was asked by ITEC (www.itecworld.co.uk) to set up an ITEC office in the US. She served as Business Development Manager, working with organizations such as AMTA, AACS, CEA and AIMT. In addition, she was asked to be a Subject Matter Expert in Stone Therapy and was invited to join ITEC’s international speaker’s circuit.

In 2004, Christine became the Founder and President of International Salon and Spa Services. In Dublin, Ireland, she opened Castle Bagot House, a wellness center which offered a unique pairing of education and therapeutic services. Christine played a pivotal role in introducing Hot Stone Therapy standards to the spa industry in Ireland.

During this period, her husband was misdiagnosed with lung and liver cancer – turning her world upside down. She was profoundly touched by the cancer patients she met and promised to dedicate herself to making a difference in people’s lives one day at a time.

The more Christine worked with cancer patients, the more she realized the need to create safe and effective massage and spa therapies for those dealing with the long term side effects of cancer treatments. To gain a deeper understanding and ability to treat these patients, she received certification in 2007 from Memorial Sloan-Kettering in “Medical Massage for Cancer Patients”. In 2008 she attended the “Clinical Training in Mind Body Medicine” at Harvard Medical School. The following year she attended a Harvard session on “Meditation and Psychotherapy: Cultivating Compassion and Wisdom” with his Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

When Christine’s father was diagnosed with stomach cancer, she was able to draw on all of her learning and experiences to partner with his oncologists and help in his recovery. She launched the Christine Clinton Cancer Care Program and has conducted training seminars at numerous spas throughout Ireland (including The Spa at Castlemartyr, Victorian Treatment Rooms at Castle Leslie, Spirit One Spa at Radisson Blu Galway, The Spa at Aghadoe Heights Hotel, Spa Sula, The River Spa at Knightsbrook, Fota Island Resort, Cloister Spa at Muckross Park Hotel, Tonic Spa at Castleknock Hotel & Country Club, Seascape Spa at Silver Tassie Hotel, Solas Croi Spa at Brandon House Hotel, Nadur Spa, Tranquility Spa at Clayton Whites Hotel, The Spa at Pillo Hotel, Essence Spa, Herbs and Roses Spa, and Temple Spa).

She is currently an International ITEC examiner. In addition, she maintains her private practice of 20 years which continues to evolve as she works with local chiropractors, physical therapists and doctors’ offices. Her clients range from infants, children and teenagers with a variety of conditions, to busy moms, corporate executives, cancer survivors and seniors.

She is passionate about education, too. “It is the key to everything. Knowledge is power, it sets you free. If you have knowledge you can make choices.” Christine’s passion is making a positive difference in the world, one person at a time.
